January 31, 2022. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Arturo Claro Fernández, who served on the Board of Directors at Compañía Sud Americana de Vapores (CSAV) since 1987. He was a member of the Directors’ Committee and Vice Chairman of the company between 2008 and 2010.

For nearly 35 years, he stood out for his tremendous commitment and contribution to developing CSAV, especially in the most challenging moments. Those of us who had the opportunity to know and work with him witnessed his professionalism, talent and the rigor with which he performed his duties. His memory will always be with us.

Arturo Claro had a degree in agronomy from Universidad Católica. He was also Chairman of the Board at Inversiones Quimetal S.A., Quimetal Industrial S.A, Quimas S.A. and Protección de Madera Ltda., Vice Chairman at Viña Santa Rita and on the board at Marítima de Inversiones S.A.
