Fundación CSAV and Hanseatic Global Terminal Latin America – Inland Services Host San Antonio Students During SOFOFA’s “Open Companies” Event

With a commitment to strengthening the link between the logistics industry, technical education, and the local community, Fundación CSAV, together with Hanseatic Global Terminal (HGT), welcomed a group of students from the Instituto Comercial Marítimo Pacífico Sur (INCO) to their facilities.

The activity is framed within the “Empresas Abiertas” (Open Companies) initiative, promoted by the Sociedad de Fomento Fabril (SOFOFA), which seeks to generate spaces of trust and transparency by allowing the community to learn about company operations firsthand.

The group, composed of 11th-grade students specializing in Port Operations at INCO, had the opportunity to tour the Hanseatic Global Terminal Off-dock Warehouse and part of its facilities. The visit featured the participation of executives from Fundación CSAV, Hanseatic Global Terminal, representatives from SOFOFA, COLSA, San Antonio Terminal Internacional (STI), and local authorities.

Subsequently, the group moved to the port facilities for a guided tour, adjusted to the day’s actual operations, which allowed the students to visualize on-site the dynamics of off-dock storage and cargo logistics, thus complementing the theoretical knowledge of their specialty.

This event is part of the ongoing work that Fundación CSAV carries out within the framework of its “Ciudad Puerto” (Port City) projects, actively collaborating with municipal technical high schools in San Antonio. Its objective is to show young people the possibility of creating a real professional growth trajectory within the local industry.

María Elena Palma, Director of Fundación CSAV, highlighted the importance of these events: “For us, it is fundamental to bring the logistics world closer to the community, especially to students with port specialties. These events foster a sense of belonging, link the educational community with the logistics sector, and bring classroom theory closer to day-to-day reality. Above all, they provide the opportunity to hear real experiences and authentic messages from those who are part of this industry, thus strengthening the bond between education, workers, and companies.”
