Over 700 Students Benefit from Fundación CSAV Project at Padre André Coindre School

The gymnasium was completely remodeled, providing the entire community with a new gathering space. During the inaugural ceremony, awards were also presented to the players of the Fundación CSAV U-14 Inter-school Championship, held in this renovated venue.

San Antonio, August 2024. Students, parents, teachers, and authorities celebrated the handover of the renovated indoor gymnasium at the Padre André Coindre School, located in the Bellavista district of San Antonio. The project, which will benefit approximately 700 students from Pre-K to 8th grade, involved a total renovation of the roof and the installation of new facilities for various sports and cultural activities.

The initiative, led by Fundación Compañía Sud Americana de Vapores, had a cost of 100 million pesos. It adds to previous projects such as the construction of a multi-purpose court, the renovation of bathrooms and locker rooms, and the ongoing Summer School and sports workshops that have benefited the educational community over the last two years.

Óscar Hasbún, President of Fundación CSAV, stated: “We are committed to improving the quality of life for these students. We know this community and its needs well, which is why we decided to maintain our support by developing this project—a long-held dream for both students and teachers. By equipping these spaces for sports and cultural activities, we directly support these children, their families, and the community of this port city.”

Daniel Silva, Director of the Padre André Coindre School, highlighted the importance of investing in sports and school infrastructure for child development. “Thanks to the contribution of Fundación CSAV, we now have high-quality, spacious facilities that will allow us, as a school community, to come together and share in various activities within these venues,” he affirmed.

Inter-school Championship Awards

The ceremony also served as the stage for the awards presentation of the Fundación CSAV U-14 Girls’ Inter-school Futsal Championship. The tournament featured students from six local schools and concluded with the Coindre School as the winner.

The event was attended by representatives of the San Antonio Unido Football Club, including Academy Director Jorge Ortiz and Youth Team Head Coach Guillermo Pérez, along with youth players Bastián Carrasco and Hugo Vera, who presented the awards to the winners.
